Another PML-N and PPP ploy to grab power by delaying the municipal elections. So that they can get thier own persons in and guarantee election fraud. Democracy zindabad.

Have not seen the programme but it really is a shame that so called “big” “political parties” are afraid of election!

They are neither big nor political parties.

    @ nota

I read the Ayaz Mir column, Dun know the guy personally only know him through his writings and he is one of those intellectuals like Mantoo. Socialist when USSR was in power now conviniently hiding behind democracy. That he is elequent doesn’t hides his intellectual dishonesty. Though I am no fan of SC running the govt and this particular court of CJ Iftikhar has shown from time to time meddling in issues that SC should stay out of eg calling IG of Sindh to explain traffic jam, yes its a serious matter but not the job of SC of Pakistan, most if needed high court of Sindh can take care of the issue, in same way when High court of Baluchistan took notice of the extrajudicial killing and called up the case, SC of CJ Iftikhar intervened and took the sumoto action. A clear disrespect to sister court. That said Ayaz Mir argument are pure hypocricy wasnt he the one calling for sumoto action against anything that benefits his leader NS? Wat good for goose is good for gander.

To be honest I find Ayaz Amir confused at best. Remember he was one of the first people to raise objections on Nizam e Adal legislation before the fabled Rah-e-Rast operation.

It is no secret that the politicians dont want a strong judiciary. While I dont know why CJ called IG police to explain traffic jams! A vibrant judiciary is essential for the system to work.

One of the main problems with the “powers that be” is their desire for absolute power and to be beyond any accountability. The haves don’t want any check on their powers. Remember Gohar Ayub’s account of NS love for judiciary when he was in power and I hear about the “great Saheed” Bhutto’s love for the judiciary of the time. Least someone accuses me of being unalanced and to complete the account the less I talk about the judiciary during military rule the better! We are still paying for their atrocities till this day and God only knows how long we will continue to.

Regarding Drooooooooooooling all I can say is get a life and a wife!!!! Good Luck. LOL

Exactly my words about this confused “intellectual capacity”. He has the ability to shock with absolutely nonsense in between. Not really a man one can trust. I would even say that he is even more flip-flop than the average member of the BBC (Butt Brothers Club).
