Why Kashif Abbassi was Banned

Kashif Abbasi has been banned by his channel following the order of Big Bosses in the Govt. Hear him talk why he was banned.
In ROHI TV’s programme MEDI SARKAR WITH RAOUF KLASRA He describes what happened with him.

I think Kashif is maybe still expecting something from ARY. He was not speaking too openly against them for letting him down. Anyways he is a very brave man. We need more people like him!
I see a lot of oraise for tv anchors like Hamid Mir, Shahid Masood and Talat Hussain, but as far as I know none of them have raised this issue. That’s a shame! Is it because they will have less competition on who is the best? or is it even worse i.e. they have themselves agreed on certain issues with the government.
What about the newspapers? Has any newspaper raised this VERY GRAVE issue?
Anyways kudos to ROHI tv/Rauf Klasra tv for raising the issue.
Man kashif just blasted the govt, emperor has no clothes. Its not just PPP, PML -N will do same. He is absolutely right that the political parties, and for that matter no one like to be criticized specially the one in the power. Hope Talat can give him show, at the same time Kashif shown his class by not blasting his employee.
If at all there were any doubt, then at least for now there shouldn’t be any doubt left about PML-N intentions. They have already shown the (ugly) colours by using their Internet Bulldog PKP to malign journalists like Rauf Klasra and Haroon Rasheed. The terrier MaliciousBO (Mbo) is one writer for sale in this kind of gimmick. Off course there are also the cheer leader captain called Gul.
Ahahahahaha
I am missing nota to comment on this….
Gulbo and co….cheerleading reminds of IPL’s cheerleaders and I bet Gul will have no problems doing what those girls do….
Shake your bum….lol.
Rauf Kalasra’s conclusion is right, these politicians have not learnt anything. Secondly Kashif Abassi’s concluding remark about the lack of democratic culture in political parties is spot on.
It is such a pity that even “learned” Pakistanis are so dishonest with themselves that they don’t accept short comings of their favorite “leaders” be that of any political party. There was a time Jiyalas had an exclusive monopoly on such political dishonesty but now it is rampant right across the spectrum.
Conclusion: Fanaticism of any kind is bad.
I am all for free press. But our anchor persons fair and rational in their comments or they are just keen on sensationalism.
Our anchors are in a race to humiliate their guest and create live confrontation among their guests. Where is the objectiveness in their presentation.
They may have short memories but there are many Pakistanis who remember. When previous government moved UAE to bann geo and other channel to telecast from Dubai, Dr. Masud Shahid during the last hour of transmission spoke live with Nawaz Sharif from Jeddah and asked his comments about that ban. He forgot that it was Nawaz Sharif who deprived Jang Group for their quota of newsprint for long time. Who Dr. Masud Shahid was trying to fool.
It is a fact that apart from a breif period (which was deplorable), it was ex-President General Pervaiz Musharraf’s era when the media had the most freedom. But these unthankful journalists never acknowldege this.
What wrong ex-President did should always be deplored but for the sake of free press please do acknowledge the good things done in his government. It was he who made it easier to have new TV channel. How many TV channels did Nawaz of Benazis allowed????
@Azmat you are welcome! But please allow me for a moment. We have very long memories indeed. Please spare us “X-President’s” achievements! Only if I could lay my hands on your “X-President”!
Sometimes I wonder why Quaid-e-Azam did not allow internet in every house at the time of creation of Pakistan. Could it be that he wanted to leave it for “X-President” to list among his achievements????(?)
@Azmat
Ur Right, Mushy does have a credit that he advanced indpendent media and credit should ben given to him that he allowwed the media to reign free. The problem is crimes of Mushy are such that watever good he did dun help his cause. Also he crushed the same media that he created. Now ofcoz media not innocent, they are sensalitist and bias, but thats the nature of electronic beats it dun have time for reflection unlike the print media. Rumor becomes breaking news, which would never had happened in print media. 24 hr news cycle in itself shouldnt be ther as to fill the airways all kinda crap is transmitted. But do remember Mushy also gave us enlighted moderation and same media backed him and propgaated that idea and agenda so much so sometimes I wonder is is Geo Pakistan or Geo Kanjar.
But an anchor builts its own reputation and public can see who is bias 2 wat. Kashif Abassi has earneed the respect of junta, that he asks sharp, pointed qts, and that may be he lacks little tact is the issue of style. That dun mean he should be banned.
President Zardari known as Pakistan Khapey says that Kashif Abbasi (Off the Record) not Khapey….ARY Owners can not take any chance after they have seen the example of Khanani & Kalia….Off the Record is now off the screen….
Credit should go to Musharraf for allowing TV channels in abundance, but don’t get fooled either. He was over confident and thought he could walk on water. He thought that he could manipulate anyone at any time with his speaking powers. Over confidence cost the “commando” dearly. The media – he thought he could control – went after him and then he did show his true colours by banning different channels and anchor persons.
On top of that you must know that you cannot stop certain development. In this case you must have experienced that in that era a lot of TV channels popped up ALL over the world. Sooner or later we would have dozens of TV channels in Pakistan, then why not dance in front of the procession and say that all of them are “following” you. The same can be said about the Internet. It is also a kind of a media, which cannot be stopped in the long run – also in countries where they really don’t want it (from the leader´s perspective).
Voh dekho ullo bola !!!!! lol
